Better Business Bureau Certified

For many consumers trust is a factor to consider when purchasing a new or used vehicle. The Better Business Bureau is a “public service organization that advocates ethical, responsible conduct in the marketplace. Through the support of business members sharing its goals and standards, the BBB offers programs which promote informed buying and giving decisions, truthful advertising and selling practices, and the resolution of marketplace disputes.” The Better Business Bureau adds credibility and a level of trust to businesses that receive positive ratings. Most of the Montrose Auto Group’s dealerships have received an ‘A’ rating or better, and all are accredited by the BBB.
The Bureau takes many factors into consideration when grading a business including: advertising honesty, transparency, follow through on promises, safeguarding customer privacy and embodying integrity. Detailed Reliability Reports, like this one for the Montrose Mazda of Kent store, provide information on why a store received the rating it is assigned and how many customer concerns, if any, were reported during the past 36 months.
An unbiased third party, the Better Business Bureau allows consumers to gather information on accredited and non accredited businesses. Find out more about the Montrose Auto Group’s dealership ratings here.

Interview with John Allensworth
Posted by Dazatar Media in Uncategorized on October 20, 2010
He calls himself the ‘Wine and Cheese Guy.’ John Allensworth, the Community Relations Manager for the Montrose Auto Group (MAG), specializes in building networking opportunities within the local communities of the Montrose footprint in order to create goodwill towards the Montrose brands.
Allensworth is humble in describing his role as it far exceeds simply wine knowledge coupled with the gift of gab. His duty as one of three Montrose Community Relations Managers brings him right to the front lines, interfacing with Chambers of Commerce on a daily basis. His conversations and actions help shape and form relationships with key community members to strengthen the Montrose reputation and promote community involvement through the Montrose dealerships, places he’s working to transform into Community Centers.
Background
Allensworth operated his own company for 35 years. In 2003 he retired and as he put it: “played golf for a year and a half before he decided to go back to work.” Allensworth is the kind of energetic powerhouse that could run circles around those half his age. The best part: not only is he energetic, he is creative.
“I created my first community relations position in 2007 because I was retired and needed something to do,” said Allensworth.
“I would go to meetings for different Chambers of Commerce part time. It took me about three months to land a full time position.”
Allensworth’s first community relations position was with the Mullinax family of dealerships. After 2 years he joined the Montrose Auto Group in a similar role.
A day on the job
Anyone who takes a moment to watch or listen can tell that Allensworth has passion for his career. He speaks of planning events as a pleasurable endeavor.
“I am the go-to guy for events,” admits Allensworth. “I have planned events that range in size from 30-300.” At one event in 2007 we raised $3,000 in two hours for the Alliance WYCA.”
Allensworth notes that the biggest event of the year is the upcoming “Taste of Italian Wines” that will be held at Ultimate JetCharters in North Canton on Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 5-8 p.m. The event features the 15 manufacturer brands the Montrose Auto Group offers throughout Northeast Ohio as well as two private jets featured alongside the vehicles.
“The event gets bigger every time” notes Allensworth. “And there’ll be wine and cheese,” he said with a smile.
To receive a formal invitation to the event e-mail Marketing@GoMontrose.com. Due to the availability of adult beverages, an invitation is required for admittance.
A team player
As Allensworth described his role with the Montrose Auto Group he made sure to credit the marketing department and his Community Relations counterparts, Frank Salamone, Jim Riske and Vinny Maculaitis.
He mentioned that one of the most rewarding parts of his job is the monthly ‘MAG Tour’ he takes each month where he helps build excitement and energy within the Montrose stores.
“I get to hand out the reward checks for sales incentives and VIP Program enrollment,” said Allensworth. “I think these programs really make an impact for our organization and a positive difference to our employees.”
Fun Fact
Allensworth will be acting in a dinner mystery theater production at the North Canton Playhouse Field Press Lodge on Nov. 20th titled The Fatal Fifties. All proceeds from the production will be donated to the North Canton Playhouse.
